”In 1912, in a copper kettle at the Standard Candy Company at Clark & First Avenue in Nashville, TN, the world’s first ever combination candy bar was invented.”  So begins the company website’s description of its signature product, the Goo Goo cluster, named after the co-owner’s child’s first words.  Today, Standard has expanded its own product line and taken on contract jobs for other confectioners.  The result is that Goo Goo’s make up only 10% of annual production.
